Haflong is located in Assam, in the north Cachar Hills, at a height of 2,230ft, on the Shillong Silchar Raod and 413 km from Guwahati.
Haflong in Jaintia means white ants hillock. This particular hillock however is big enough for you to see the rainbow way down from Haflong or better still you can always see its reflection on the lake that lies right in the meddle of this tiny HQ of Assam’s north cachar Hills.
From Haflong, Assam acquired its sobriquet Land of Blue Hills. Jatinga 20 km
Jatinga is a small village on a secluded ridge in the Borail Range. Although this part of the world is not known to many jatinga is world famous. For the crazy birds of Jatinga have made it immensely popular among bird crazy people.

Once the flourishing capital of the Dimasa cachari kings who ruled the region maibong was lost to the last king, tularam. Ruins of this once magnicicent settlement can be seen all around the small town of mailbong. The ancient Ramchandi Temple still commands repect and faith from the local populace. The pretty mahur river flows by maibong offering many spots for a leisurely picnic.
Umrangsu 112 km
This township has come into being only recently, when the northeast electric power corporation set up a hydel plant here. There is a hot water spring, creatively called Garampani, nearby. The water is believed to possess medicinal qualities.
Panimoor 120 km
